South Korea charter flights deal announced by Glasgow Airport

Glasgow Airport is to welcome four direct flights from South Korea this summer, bringing more than 1,000 tourists to Scotland. Korean Air and tour operator Hanjin Travel have announced four inbound charter flights from the country’s capital Seoul to Glasgow. Using an Airbus A330 aircraft, the first service from Seoul will arrive in Glasgow on July 26, with the remaining three flights touching down throughout August. As a result of the new flights, Glasgow will welcome more than 1,300 South Korean tourists. Bridge design unveiled for Luton Airport mass transit

Luton Airport Gateway Bridge will be part of the £200m mass passenger transit (MPT) system linking London Luton Airport with Luton Parkway railway station. The MPT system will be a fully-automated people-mover running alongside the mainline railway before crossing over Airport Way via the new bridge.

Bus service from Maidenhead and Slough to Luton Airport to be launched

Holidaymakers will be able to travel directly to Luton Airport with the introduction of a new bus service. The Luton Flyer, run by Courtney Buses, which starts on April 1 will stop at Maidenhead and Slough twice a day. Designed to reach the airport for morning and evening flights, services will call at Bridge Road, Maidenhead at 4.40am and 4.30pm and at Slough Bus Station at 5.05am and 5pm. It will start at Bracknell and also stop at Wokingham. The company decided to start the service, which will be the number 350, after hearing from passengers the difficulty in getting to Luton Airport by public transport. Passenger Traffic Continues Upward Growth at Oakland Airpor

Officials credit new destinations, particularly Norwegian Air Shuttle’s flights to London and Stockholm. Passenger traffic at the Oakland International Airport continues its steady upward growth with a substantial increase in the first month of 2017, according to airport officials. Reports indicate that total passenger traffic at Oakland International Airport reached 908,898 for the month of January, up 7.8 percent from the same month a year ago, airport officials said. The increase marks the 38th consecutive month of year-over-year passenger traffic growth for the airport. Luton Transit – Plans Formally Submitted

After plans were unveiled last year for a transit system to link Luton Airport and the Parkway station – those proposals have now been submitted to the council. The light rain transit, “MPT – Mass Passenger Transit” is designed to enable fast, easy access from central London to the UK’s fifth biggest and fastest-growing major airport in 30 minutes by providing a seamless transfer time of just five minutes from Luton Airport Parkway to the airport terminal. Subject to planning permission, work could begin in late 2017 – with the system ready for operation by spring 2021.
